This journal is so much better than I expected! The questions are great - thoughtful, interesting, unique, and things that don't really come up in normal, every day conversation, giving you a chance to learn things about your family member that you may not have known otherwise! I'm SO excited to give this to my Dad and pass it on to my children one day, as well, so that these important thoughts and memories will always live on instead of being forgotten one day. This journal is made beautifully with a nice, hard cover, plenty of space to write, and a ton of questions about a variety of topics. Just a few of the questions included; "What is your favorite memory of your father?", "Do you feel that things were easier or harder for you when you were growing up because of where you fell in the birth order? Why?", "What do you miss most about being a kid?", "What did you do on a typical Saturday when you were a kid?", it asks how they think their parents relationship might've influenced their own, asks about becoming a father and specific memories around the birth of their children, and so much more! This is an excellent item that will stay in my family for many, many years to come!

I got this item for free for an Amazon Vine review. I chose it because I was hoping that my father would write a few things down for me. Now that I am in my 40s there’s knowledge that I don’t wish to be getting lost about his early life and our family history, and while he may have another 10-30 years or so, there’s no guarantee how long his memory will hold and it is also a way to connect. My Dad played a big part in my life and later my kid’s lives, and I don’t know any to lose that. Generally, the things I review are of a less personal nature however, when I saw this, I felt it was important to review. I was a little cautious when I was requesting it for a review as they looked very light in color, and I know that my father prefers a darker brown in his leathers. I took a picture of it here and it does show up as lighter in the picture than it is in real life. It is actually darker than that and more brown. It is a good quality item and in my opinion cheap for the cost, a bargain really. Additionally, my dad was very happy with it.

Bought these as a gift for my parents and they were perfect. They ask you questions and prompts about their lives and it has been a joy being able to go through these with them and learn about their childhoods and lives. They are much sturdier than I expected. Worth the price.
